Radio Silence^TM is a simple lamp side common mode filter that reduces RFI by up to 30 dB

The reason most digital ballasts are being pulled off the market is they are not in compliance with the FCC regulations part 15 and part 18.

It would make them too expensive in order to compete with the standard transformer ballasts to add the proper filters to reduce the Spurious Radio Frequency Emissions that are illegal.

Ham radio operators or the Cable company will track you down sooner or later and issue you a cease-and-desist order that can be backed-up by the FCC and other “Federal Agencies” if you do not comply, by adding this filter you reduce the chances of being discovered by causing interference with ham radio operation and other television and radio frequency equipment.
